Questions
Do my videos get uploaded?
No. Editing, face tracking, and exporting all happen in your browser, so your video stays on your device. When you use auto captions, AI auto edit, or the clip maker, only the audio is sent to be transcribed, along with the words so the AI can plan the edit.
What can I do for free?
The whole editor: cutting, splitting, transitions, text, color looks, captions you type, your own music, and every shape. Free exports can be up to 60 seconds at 720p with a small watermark. The AI tools and the shared library are part of Pro.
What can I upload?
Videos you filmed yourself or have permission to use. The same goes for songs and background clips you add.
Which browsers work?
Recent versions of Chrome, Edge, and Safari, on a phone or computer. Chrome and Safari export MP4; a few browsers can only export WebM. Keep Offcut on screen while an export runs. If you switch away, it pauses and picks up when you come back.
How do the Pro limits work?
Pro includes a generous weekly allowance of transcription minutes and AI edits, which resets every Monday. You can see how much you've used on your account page.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Open Account, then Manage billing. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for.
